In 1880 when my great grandfather John J. Sheehan was 20 he years emigrated from Ireland to Boston. Upon arriving in America John came across signage stating "No Dogs, No Blacks & No Irish". Not feeling welcomed in Boston he chose instead to make his way to Philadelphia. In 1887 he married Nora (Hanora) Ryan -also from Ireland- had 2 girls & 6 sons. I am having a difficult time finding information regarding John's exact area of birth.

My Great Grandfather was Heleness John Sheehan born in 1890 Banff he married Ellen Minnie Sharp. He had a three children my grandfatger Stanley Victor Sheehan another son and Kathleen. My Great Great Grandfather was Patrick Sheehan born in 1858 (on one census it is 1862) in Limerick Ireland abd he was married in 1885 in Larne to Isabella Read born 1867 in Larne County Antrim. They had five Children including Heleness. William (born Larne Ireland) Robert (born in England) Bridget Grace Ann (born in Wales)and Patrick (born in England). My Great Grandfather his brother and my Great Great Grandfather were customs officers. Trying to find further information about the family ancestry and any descendants

I am researching my family and found that my grandfather was previously married to an Ann Sheehan. Ann's parents I believe were Peter Sheehan and Elizabeth Daly from Mullingar. I believe Ann was born 8/20/1872 in Mullingar. My grandfather Patrick married Ann in NYCon 2/2/1896. I can't find any info about Ann's death. Any help would be appreciated.

Grandfather Michael Sheehan from Midleton Ireland died 1960's. His son John Francis Sheehan moved to United States late 1940's New York.
